Now this is perfect checksum (SHA1) Each volume name are "Windows 98" 1) Retail Upgrade version (Original Release : 05-11-1988) File Type : ISO CD-Image File Size : 651,309,056 bytes MD5 : 4fdf62a2b9abc9c62eec4c6c94fd0e5d SHA1 : dc360dbe56cacf187eb1a87d387afa128f6b86b6 CRC32 : 174ab011 2) MSDN Full version (Original Release : 05-11-1988) File Type : ISO CD-Image File Size : 651,446,272 bytes MD5 : 86304a313ba945b014f3216ec14968a9 SHA1 : 0a1bed3d0d0f1b4798e839b00e92bd54c335a5d2 CRC32 : c8d6c849 3) OEM Full version (Original Release : 05-11-1988) File Type : ISO CD-Image File Size : 654,219,264 bytes MD5 : c41e081b2ba3ff6e109080dac745091c SHA1 : c95fe41b1bc7c83e16bdd9ec8cbd97866552a06b CRC32 : f648e481
Not correct (for some at least) Code: File: en_win98_oem_upgrade.iso CRC-32: 8113d1ee MD4: 29799d9221ac8faf2169573f5b446a35 MD5: 84b73c4988da64af6c42ef092dcd8c6a SHA-1: 4783ac7d217f4db09227a4dbec8d22e87aa8e62 Not all Windows 98 CD's were made with AutoCRC set. Microsoft were very inconsistent with the way they made some ISO's. I appreciate your efforts but not sure it's a good idea to spread your files which are at least partially wrong compared to images from original physical media.
>File: en_win98_oem_upgrade.iso >CRC-32: 8113d1ee > MD4: 29799d9221ac8faf2169573f5b446a35 > MD5: 84b73c4988da64af6c42ef092dcd8c6a > SHA-1: 4783ac7d217f4db09227a4dbec8d22e87aa8e62 Compare it carefully. Your disc is Windows 98 FE OEM/Upgrade. (SHA-1: 4783ac7d217f4db09227a4dbec8d22e87aa8e62) But my disc is Windows 98 FE Retail/Upgrade. (SHA-1: dc360dbe56cacf187eb1a87d387afa128f6b86b6) I've got this as junks. So disc is different from your OEM/Upgrade. I've dumped it and compared.
I never said you were using AutoCRC (infact CRC32 said you weren't) - my point was a general point to anyone reading the thread not to make assumptions that things are the same on one edition as another - as your OEM Upgrade is wrong is just one example.
I was referring to this: en_win98_oem_to_en_win98_oem_upgrade / SHA1:268accd64390bb7b7780e5a494715c7e615e6cdc You clearly your stating that the to is windows 98 oem upgrade with a sha1 of 268accd64390bb7b7780e5a494715c7e615e6cdc This is the one I was stating is wrong.
Oops, I'm sorry. That is file name mistake. I've included "en_win98_oem_to_en_win98_oem_upgrade". So I deleted the patch of this part and another one (oem to retail upgrade), hehehe. (Sorry again)
Well I generated that many months ago - just before I posted the thread. I just had no way to confirm if sha1 would match a genuine retail. You could have saved a lot of agro and not gained a bad reputation if you had just confirmed it to me. As it is my opinion of you is somewhat muddied now, and I know at least 2 other collectors feel the same.
