    I *was* a MS partner and didn't pay my annual subscription of $300...because I lost my job. I have Server 2008 R2 and SharePoint 2010 installed on a VM. I am having issues with the VM and SharePoint and want to reinstall it but I no longer have access to my technet subscription product keys which, if MS had not locked me out of my subscription, I could easily retrieve the key for SharePoint 2010 Ent. In the new VM, I have Server 2008 R2 installed (I had that key in a file), but I can't install SharePoint 2010 unless I have my old product key (I lost, or can't find, that damned file).

    I've scanned the registry and found:
    "Product Code" like {90140000-110D-0000-1000-0000000FF1CE}
    "ProductID" like 82503-345-1234567-8901*
    "SPPSkuID" like D6695F62-439B-7172-B0B2-0CBAD310BB98*
    *not actual id
    in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Office14.OSERVER

    This intrigues me. Where can I find out how to retrieve the product key from this information? I don't want a crack. I would actually like to write the code on my own, if required, but am not sure where to start. Google searches were fruitless (but I did find this site...very nice). I have VS2010 (yeah, I didn't lose that key either) and have been a developer for 15+ years. I know this sounds ignorant, and it literally is, but I had no idea this scene existed. I don't know, maybe this isn't a code solution...maybe I haven't found the right registry location. I'm not asking for a handout (but there is no sense in reinventing the wheel if some Office 2010 product key finder will work...the ones I dl'ed did not find anything other than the OS PKey) I just need some help getting started. :worthy:

    Please find DigitalProductID and send a exact location of this ...

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall\Office14.OSERVER
    Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

    Thanks for the info guys (and the link). I saw in the Coding thread that there was some progress decoding the DigitalProductID. I'll put efforts towards coding a solution and post the results. Thanks again.

    Edit: Resolved! I can't post links but the resolution is in the Coding thread.
