    Safely Partition

    Before Partitioning

    1. It's always good to first take a backup of the system.

    2. It's recommended to check errors and defragment on the partition or disk.

    3. Do not rashly end the process or force the program shutdown.

    4. Check the battery is enough charged and power cord properly connected.

    5. Close all other applications including the antivirus software to avoid any issues.

    How-to Guides

    Case 1: Extend Partition

There must be an unallocated space adjacent to the partition you want to extend, on the same hard disk.

Step 1. In this example, there is an unallocated space behind C drive. Right-click the partition (here is C drive) you want to extend and select "Resize Partition".

Step 2. Position the mouse pointer on the right border of the partition and drag it rightwards to extend partition. Click "OK".

Step 3. It will return to main console, and you can preview the partition to be extended. Click "Apply" to commit the operation.

    Case 2: Shrink Partition

Shrink Partition help you release some unused space from one partition and get some unallocated space.

Step 1. Right-click the partition (here is D drive) you want to shrink and select "Resize Partition".

Step 2. Position the mouse pointer on either border of the partition and drag it rightwards or leftwards to shrink partition. Click "OK".

    Case 2: Sector-by-Sector Copy

The steps are similar to "Copy Disk Quickly". In step 2, you should select "Sector-by-Sector Copy" as the copy method; in step 3, you should make sure the size (used + unused space) of the destination disk is no less than the size (used + unused space) of the source disk. The rest operation is the same as "Copy Disk Quickly".

Step 1. Right-click on the partition you want to check and choose Advanced -> Check Partition.

Step 3. The operation will complete successfully in a few seconds or minutes.

The steps are similar for other two options "Check partition" and "Check bad sector"; in step 2, select the check errors option you want to perform, the rest of the steps are same.

Step 1. In main window, right-click the disk you want to clear and select "Delete All partitions".

Step 2. Select delete method in the following dialog, there are two options

Delete all partitions: Just deletes the partitions. The deleted data is recoverable.

Great looking GUI, ease of use, fast to execute partitioning operations. But most importantly AOMEI Partition Assistant has an advanced technology to take care of your hard disk drive or modern solid state drive by running state-of-the-art algorithms which ensure a correct health and status of theirs.

AOMEI Parition Assistant, a must-have piece in your tool set.

The GUI is neat and easy to use. I wonder if it allows creating virtual disk from physical?
