Running Windows 8 on a machine without the NX feature...

    I have an old laptop that unfortunately lacks the NX (No eXecute/Never eXecute) CPU feature, so Windows 8 can't be installed or run on the machine. I'd like your suggestions on getting Windows 8 running on the machine...

    Would it be possible to modify the ntoskrnl.exe and possibly winload.exe to get it working?

    upgrade your laptop with a cpu that can handle the NX feature and you're done
