I was thinking about creating a thread about safe Windows updates before we all have safe OEM keys :)

First update after Windows announced "blacklisting" Lenovo key appeared in my Windows Update is:
Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB915597

So the questinon is - is it safe? Does anyone already install it?
IMHO we don't need to be worry about Windows Defender, but the Wikipedia says that Defender aslo uses WGA

Just downloaded, installed, restarted - and I'm still activated ^-^

I shouldn't really worry if I were you, even if the key does get blacklisted we'll still have some time before W7 becomes dysfunctional, and by then I'm sure there will be other OEMs, and that's worst case scenario anyway.

Dont believe the Hype MS put out they have said it before when vista was released , stating that they were going to stop some cracks/hacks but i never seen it happen to my machines or friends machines

What about "Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB973923)"?
