Hi again Gents. Just for grins I updated a NUC that I got just to try out Windows 11 last year, as I rarely use it as there's not much on it. Once up to date it too has the same Safeguard Hold for Windows 11, version 23H2! Weird!
Gents, thanks for the posts. This year I've built a new Box for myself around an Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4 with an Intel i7-12700K CPU as my present needs are modest. And I built a Gamer Box for my son with an Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Plus WiFi D5 with an Intel i7-13700KF CPU (just a month before the 14 Gen CPUs were released). Both have Windows 11 Pro and both are exhibiting the same message I described above. I'm not in a big hurry to install 23H2, but I just don't understand why it's being held up by Windows Update. (Actually I'm waiting on the Aha moment where I see something in Windows 11 that makes it stand above Windows 10 for me.) As for the NUC, I bought that as an educational PC to learn about Windows 11 before my friends and family started to look to me for support as they always do. That was it's sole purpose, and I was very particular about it being Windows 11 capable before purchase. I've been very impressed with the little Box, and now I am not surprised by the vast array of mini PCs that are all over the market. Most Users should be able to find one to suit their needs. @Tito => As directed I updated the Bios to the latest version on the NUC and to my surprise upon reboot the Safeguard Hold message in Windows Update went away. But to my chagrin there is nothing about 23H2 when I check for updates. Even if I reboot and try, try, again. Now that the Bios is up to date, I'll look to updating to the latest audio driver package, as well as anything else that's not current on the NUC. Does anyone know of issues with 23H2 and those two Asus motherboards? Please advise. Thanks for the assist.
