Safely Remove Hardware icon

    Hi

    How can i remove this icon my computer is not connected to any external USB or any other drive in the notification area
    can anybody help to remove me this unwanted icon, I tried removing it so many ways but still it is showing on the
    notification area picture attached.
    OS used Windows 8.1 PRO x64

    Customize notification area icons to 'only show notification';it won't appear on the taskbar.You'll need it in the notification area to safely remove USB 2.0,but USB3.0 is safe to remove without ejecting.

    I did that and did searching it from MDL forum and Google nothing is happening :(
    I formatted the PC and installed fresh OS even though it is "only show notification " the icon appears :(

    It could be disabled in device manager,though I don't recommend that.

    I formatted the PC and installed fresh OS even though it is "only show notification " the icon appears :(
    can you tell me how to disable it in device manager as i dont know which is the device :(

    Go to device manager then Universal Serial Bus Controllers and you can disable USB Host Controller.

    USB Host Controller is not there in device manager :( getting Generic USB Hub and & USB Root Hub

    I did the same in registry but it dint worked changed from 4 to 3 back again :(

    Notworking still the icon is appearing i have installed so many OS but this case i dont understand whats happening :(

    I'm using the same OS and the tool works fine.Did you restart your P.C after using the tool?

    both registry setting and tools are disabling and enabling USB but the icon is not getting removed after booting PC

    Did disabled all the USB ports but the icon remain in the same place :(
    Is the error of OS ? or i have download different version and install it ?

    You can see that the USB icon is still there but its not getting removed after trying everything

    Just leave it there.Finally I can't see the point in removing a USB icon from the taskbar.I only helped you because it's the spirit of MDL.Anyway you're always welcome to ask.Good luck.

    That icon can also appear if you have e-sata ports and you did not installed the official motherboard drivers, try to install the latest drivers for your motherboard, windows default drivers usually sucks.

    aireca i did downloaded all the drivers from the manufacturer website installed all and the icon disappeared :worthy::worthy::worthy:
