    Hi,

I have an LG laptop with a BIOS-ID which starts with -

    MVINA001.86C.0000.D.09

I found a Toshiba laptop which it's BIOS-ID starts the same as mine but is newer.

As the rest of the ID is supposed to be only the date and build time are those BIOS files the same ?

What will happen if I flash the Toshiba bios in my computer ?

I am looking to add more processor support to my laptop as I want to change the processor and the Toshiba does support the processor I want to install.

    Thanks.

Isn't the BIOS-ID a unique identifier of the BIOS for a Motherboard ?

Or is there additional information in the BIOS besides the ID ?

What I mean is that my Motherboard and the Toshiba MB could be from the same motherboard manufacturer but only packaged in a different laptop by different companies. So basically I'll be flashing the same MB.

    Thanks for any help.
