After installing hd 5750 and driver i find it works great.everythings wonderful until i shut down system i noticed a high pitched sound or whinnig noise i listened as it became louder but seemed to stablize im certain this noise is coming from my hard drive also noticed my power led coming on dim at first and then brighter, the system was off but my power led was on and its making noise! what the? after a little research i reinstalled driver and replaced psu but problem presists any Ideas or info would be greatly appreciated.
The first thing to do is eliminate the graphics card as the problem. Remove the card and see if the problem persists and then post here again.
First I"d like to say thanks for your input I uninstalled card and driver shut it down and no more probem, led stays on after power down but fades out in a minute or two its a bummer cuz i really don"t want to pull this card it works great id still like to use it. my comp components are: ASUS M3A78-EM MB AMD Phenom X4 9850 seagate barracuda 7200.10 750GB HD 4 gb of corsair xms pc6400 DDR2 800mhz LG 22xdvdrw corsair vx550w psu ultra xblaster case i well continue to look for a fix for this, anymore ideas on this welcome thanks again
Strange issue, try updating your BIOS? Are all your other drives up to date? Did you completely remove all previous graphics drivers before installing the ATI ones?
as it turns out ive found that my dvi cable was causing some sort of feed back to hard drive and power led after risking my life taking the hdmi cable off my wifes tv i was able to change out cable and no more problem by the way i forgot to menton my monitor is a Gateway 22 inch LCD with vga dvi and hdmi inputs and is a good HD monitor all works great now erverythings reinstalled except now ive got to hurry up and buy a new hdmi cable before my wife kills me!
