    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A200...

I’m just wondering if I still need to mod the BIOS (it came with Vista) or is it ok to just have an OEM key and Licence for windows 7?

If I do need a new BIOS... where should I put my request?

    Thanks guys.

Use RW Everything -> ACPI -> SLIC and check if you have a 2.1 SLIC
(search for the 'WINDOWS' string and after it (in hex) if you see '20 01 00 02'
then you have SLIC 2.1 which can activate Win7, IF you see 20 00 00 00
then you have SLIC 2.0 that needs to be modded or lo@der needs to be used to emulate SLIC 2.1)

I cant find anything like that.

the closest is under, "SLIC Marker Structure"

    Windows Flag"WINDOWS "

is that what your talking about... there is a bunch of Hex after that.. but nothing as you have discribed.

    unless it's this???

    SLIC Marker Structure
    Version0x00020000

    Thanks

No, you don't need to scroll down.

Look at the attached pic. The 15th line down. You will see 53 20 01 00 02 00.
The first character is an S (hex 53), the second is a space (hex 20), the rest is byte-reversed and ends up being 00 02 00 01, or as we refer to it v2.1

Btw, unless Toshiba has released a new BIOS with v2.1 SLIC in it for that model, AND you updated your BIOS recently with it, you likely DO NOT have a v2.1 SLIC.
