After ending up nowhere with Synnex, as they are really hopeless, I filed my warranty claim directly via Seagate and got a "certified repaired Drive" back within a week after sending the failing drive back. The replacement works flawless so far and is even a bit faster then the equal drive I still have in use. It only cost me AU$15.10 for sending the failing HDD via basic registered mail.
