    hello !
I know ther's defender, but as I don't trust it much I'm seeking a compatible 3rd party AV: has anyone successfully installed and used one ?

Why do you want another anti-virus? No virus install by itself, you have to click on something to install a virus. The anti-virus is as good as the guy playing on the computer.

Malwarebytes just works... AVG f*cked up 2 times my Windows 10, so I'm not recommending it(If you uninstall it, you will probably get a black screen of death at login screen)

Agreed, I stopped paying for AV when I first realized that MSE+changing my habits and being careful when online worked perfectly. Since then I have tried many of the top tier AV suites, and I realize one thing, all they do is slow down the system without any extra benefit. I been on MSE and Defender ever since and couldn't be any happier. Unless your job is to purposefully seek out virus's, the built in AV is a whole heck of a lot less intrusive.

that's not always true now days you can get virus just by going to websites and they are so more advanced that they bypass all install prompts
