hello ! I know ther's defender, but as I don't trust it much I'm seeking a compatible 3rd party AV: has anyone successfully installed and used one ?
Why do you want another anti-virus? No virus install by itself, you have to click on something to install a virus. The anti-virus is as good as the guy playing on the computer. Lievre
Or do as I do backup the os to an image every day when the s**t hits the fan just put back you're latest backup
Malwarebytes just works... AVG f*cked up 2 times my Windows 10, so I'm not recommending it(If you uninstall it, you will probably get a black screen of death at login screen)
Agreed, I stopped paying for AV when I first realized that MSE+changing my habits and being careful when online worked perfectly. Since then I have tried many of the top tier AV suites, and I realize one thing, all they do is slow down the system without any extra benefit. I been on MSE and Defender ever since and couldn't be any happier. Unless your job is to purposefully seek out virus's, the built in AV is a whole heck of a lot less intrusive.
now we all know since you posted it twice edit: Hope Tito can merge these two undead threads at least into one
we used to have a thread by jayblok, if i remember correctlly. about scanners, the morale was that you turn on the old brain..
that's not always true now days you can get virus just by going to websites and they are so more advanced that they bypass all install prompts
Eset smart security 8.0.304.0 HIPS not working in windows 10 10041 even with pre-release update unable.
as far as I'm concerned, tese points of view settle it: I stick to defender till rtm. Thankyou everyone
