So far, so good! It installed fine and has not prompted me about activation!

It is asking me for CD2, which I need to use to install some additional features. Will using CD2 mess everything up? If so, is there a workaround?

Again, thanks for taking the time to help me with this.

BTW--I have several Dell servers running OEM Windows Server 2003 Standard R2 x86 (and thus, OEM disks) if anyone needs files off of them.

I've got a copy of CD2, but it was downloaded as a part of the trial edition from Microsoft. I didn't know if it would timebomb the thing if I tried to use it.

Disc two installs the R2 extra stuff. It shouldnt give you any issues now that the main OS appears to be activated.

To make sure its activated, click on Start, choose RUN and copy the command below:

    C:\Windows\System32\OOBE\Msoobe.exe /a

Suicide Solution, you are the bomb, thanks for everything you do on this board!

I must have jacked something up...end result, the pair of keys appear in the system tray with a balloon tip saying "30 days left to Activate" but when I click on the keys they disappear and if I try to invoke the activation wizard from the command line, nothing happens.

    What I did:
    Started with a Retail x64 Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 disk.
    Dumped the contents to c:\2K3OEM

Extracted the files from Dell 2003 CRC-C20D8FF5.rar
Placed all 4 of the OEMBIOS.SI_ files into C:\2K3OEM\I386 (They were compressed)
Copped the $OEM$ folder to C:\2K3OEM\$OEM$ (with all files inside)

Extracted the contents of Dell x64 Enterprise R2 Trial To OEM.zip
Placed all 6 of the files into C:\2K3OEM\AMD64

Downloaded MAKEISO.zip and followed your instructions (Awesome BTW)

I use Vmware 7 with the BIOS MOD from Searchengine located on this board (I only have 2 posts, couldn't post the link)

I have Dell Windows XP activated using this BIOS (As well as Server 2008, Vista, and Windows 7)...it rocks

Used Vmware easy install to mount the ISO, supplied the key you provided and it installed without a hitch with the exception of the "30 day keys" showing up.

Did I put the files in the correct place?
IS there another way to see if the activation took?
Do I have to use the downloaded trial cd from M$?

    Thanks again!!

Never mind...the source ISOs I had were jacked up. Followed all directions to the T and it worked like a charm. Thanks again!
