HAve server running 2003. Main drive is old IDE drive and there is a hot swap bay with 4 SATA bays in it. When I remove one of the existing drives it still looks like the info is there and the drive is present. Even if I rescan for new drives with the drive out, it still thinks its there. Why would this be? When I reinsert the drive it shows auto play and and begins scanning the drive. Also I'm trying to insert a new 500gb sata drive into one of the empty bays and it does not recognize it. If I plug the drive into my xp machine, it show active and formatted. Any ideas?
