Have an old 2003 server installation which cannot be migrated.
AVG 2013 antivirus fails definition updates since 8/18 and upgrade version fails to install.

Would anyone know of an AV that currently functions on server 2003.
    thanks.

    ck.

you need to use legal antivirus ? (enterprise works ? ) buy symantec endpoint protection 12. not others option if you don't have possibility to upgrade to server 2012 r2

Turn it to client using ntswitch, install a supported antivirus for XP, turn it back to server.

Seamless operation if that server is not the only DC in the domain.

    If it's a DC w/o a backup/secondary the operation becomes less easy....

You need to add a secondary DC, then demote the machine, then turn it to client, install the AV, turn it back to Server, promote it again to DC.
