Hey guys, I have a Linux HP mini-note 2133, which AFAIK has all the BIOS bits for activation (I could be wrong here, but checking with Everest shows existence of SLIC table with required bits and other things which leads me to believe its SLA1 and SLA2). Anyway, i got the HP certificate for Vista and created the $OEM$ folders and stuck a key in pid file. But it doesnt work.... where might I have gone wrong here? How can i be sure my BIOS is right for this? Its applied the OEM key but not activated windows..... I have tried something similar on a Dell laptop which worked.
First thought - is there a transcoded bios from your computer, irrespective of what Everest says? Try it, just in case. If you have done everything else right, should be the SLIC table...
How about getting an ats report form acpiscope? otherwise, did you apply the cert by manual? Be sure the serial and cert are being installed. Try it manually to be sure. Maybe the install is bad?? -Just some thoughts..
I think, you need to make a dump of your SLIC with oemdumper, or HWDIRECT, or Acpiscope, and look in the dunped file, may be SLIC is empty.
