    Heyas

At my TEST environment I have DC running Server 2008 and I would like to upgrade to 2008 R2.
The current 2008 is Enterprise version which uses MAK key, and as I don't have MAK key for R2 yet, I thought I might install 2008 R2 Standard (because of the OEM SLP activation).
The problem is that the installation doesn't allow "upgrade" from Enterprise versions to Standard versions.
Is there a way to bypass that version check, or any way to "upgrade" Enterprise to Standard?
Tried google, but haven't find anything...

    thanks in advance :)

Unfortunately you can't do that, you can upgrade from standard to enterprise, but not backwards.

Thank you sebus, I had that idea myself before I asked, just missed the EditionID value.

The upgrade went surprisingly smooth, all roles and features left intact, everything works like it was before. :)
