    Hi

I have a server 2008 (not R2) that I installed with release candidate media. It has now expired and reboots every 2 hours.

I have the server setup just the way I like it for my home network and don't want to loose at the settings. Is there any way to activate this pre-release version or disable the 2 hour reboot?

    Many thanks

I suggest you do an upgrade to RTM or to R2.
Just put your Win2k8 RTM (or R2) DVD and choose "upgrade" when asked.

    Really is it that easy?

I'll take a image, give that a go and report back.

Hmm my problem is a little more complicated than I though. My current Server 2008 install was install from a slipstreamed disk that included SP2 beta. There is no way to uninstall the SP2 beta at this point and the full SP2 won't install while the beta is in place.

Do I have any options other than a complete re-install at this point?

That's the problem with beta SPs they basically force you to do a reinstall if you use them. If you do not see the SP in the remove windows updates then yes you will have to reinstall.

Oh that's a real pain. I'll try an inplace upgrade using the W2K8 SP2 peoper and if that doesn't work I'll try and inplace upgrade to R2.

Thanks for all you help chianf092
