Sorry if this makes some of you groan, but please can i have some help.

I have successfully activated OEM Win 7 machines, by getting a bin file (which is a SLIC 2.1 cert right?), merging that with the appropriate tool with a valid BIOS to create a custom BIOS, then flash.

Then use the XRM-MS license file (does that have to match the above?), and a key corresponding to the windows version.

    Am i correct so far?

If so, and i want to OEM activate a Win 08 R2 Std on a desktop motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R) - i have already modded BIOS for Win 7 - do i need to mod again? If no, where do i find the BINs and does it matter which I use for my motherboard?

I have keys (i think), so to the best of my knowlegde I just need a BIN file and an XRM-MS file.

One final thing, I have an MVLS account but all the ISOs will be retail/vlk wont they? So i need an OEM ISO for server 08 std r2?

    Thanks for any advice

    Yep

    No

    If 'yes' you mean? puzzled?
Anyway nothing to worry about, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are both SLP 2.1 SLIC tables, meaning interchangeable

No, as your said you BIOS already has a SLP 2.1 SLIC modded, in that case all you need is a OEM:SLP key for the appropriate Windows Server 2008 R2 version and a OEM Certificate that matches your BIOS SLP 2.1 SLIC (Win7 and Win 2008 R2 Certificates are interchangeable)

No, you can OEM:SLP activate retail/vlk copies as well

    @FreeStyler

Please remove the sample PIDs after SKU name; its incomplete & completely unnecessary :)

    Example:

    Code:
    Windows Storage Server Standard
    XXXXX-OEM-8202002

    Foundation Server 2008
    *****-OEM-*******

    Server 2008 Standard
    92573-OEM-7502905

EDIT: Thanks for the editing, but you have missed one :D

    Code:
    Server 2008 Enterprise
    92516-OEM-7502905

Ok I do have a problem, I was using Windows Server 2008r2 Enterprise with a Acer Bios and a Acer cert and Dell key and it was activated fine, but when I install office 2010 and updated it to SP1, I got a problem with the Product ID being unavailable. I can't exactly remember what it was saying, but I do know that it was not activated anymore. Can anyone help with that.

Are you backed up? Then go back to where you were before installing Office 2010 and start reading on all the ways that is not going to work without doing xxxx.
