First, can you resolve the Active Directory (AD) domain name using DNS by pinging the FQDN. Check DNS configuration on the DC. :)

    FQDN is homered.xaloc.net

Ping homered.xaloc.net from 10.1.1.3 gives DNS 10.1.1.2 and is successful.

    Did I miss something?

Check the log in event viewer on the DC to see if something goes wrong when you try to join the domain from the other server.
PS :And give a screenshot if you noticed something .

I just tried to join the domain in order to provide some troubleshooting info, and suddenly it just popped through.
I hate this. I spend days trying and troubleshooting and when getting some help it works, just out of the blue.

It even finds the Server when adding to Server Group and gives no errors, all of which failed previously.

Thanks so far, Coleoptere2007. I'll get back if I stumble on something. :smile3:

Be sure that both dc and server are time synchronized, this can lead to problems sometime.

This could probably be because I still use the Routers DNS server. I will turn it off and test. Not running RPC.
