I want to setup a KMS Server on Windows Server 2012 R2 but I have no KMS Server key.
Shall I install KMS server role or another way (such as Microsoft Toolkit)?

Yeah, installing a real KMS Host without working keys is impossible :cool2:.

Alternative: Install KMSServerService of MTK and adjust Firewall to make it accessable:

    Code:
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="KMSServerService" dir=in program="%windir%\KMSServerService\KMS Server Service.exe" localport=1688 protocol=TCP action=allow remoteip=any
    netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name="KMSServerService" dir=in program="%windir%\KMSServerService\KMS Server Service.exe" localport=1688 protocol=TCP action=allow remoteip=localsubnet

As slave77 said - I did exactly the same and I am able to activate Windows OS (Client and Server) + Office 2013 Pro without any issues. Just have to run the command cscript ospp.vbs /act to activate office 2013.

Just one change from Salve77 - I disabled firewall on the domain since it is home lab environment.

Only Win 8.1/Server 2012 R2 would need a local host bypass installed :cool2:. The rest will get activated flawlessly without anything additional.

Not that easy to do manually :g:. I would opt for installing Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard and activate with Daz' Loader. Note: it must be Standard :cool2:.
