user generated key = not legit keys given by MS to OEMs = legit Non-legit keys are easily blocked by MS since they are unofficial and no legitimate OEM uses it. Already happened with the leaked LENOVO key for Windows 7. Systems using it become non-Genuine.
Hi, guys! What the problem with genuine serials (not generated) for Win Server 2016? Are vendors does not use slic+cert+serial scheme anymore? Or serials became really unique (and can be easy blocked) for each sold server? Or what?
Not everyone wants a new server that's using a new version of Windows. That plus I guess the price could be a factor too. We deleted the thread that contained the keygen a long time ago because foreign websites were posting fake keys and claiming that they were real. So them fake keys can now easily get mixed up with real keys, which makes it difficult for everyone. Only a few people (myself included) would know how to identify a fake one. Remember the WAT update for Windows 7? Well it's built into Windows Server 2016. So by using a generated key your PC will be telling Microsoft that you're using a pirated version of Windows. The reports are tied to your IP address too.
