I've got several question regarding SP1, 1. After Upgrading to SP1 (Using SP1 RTM, Whenever it gets released) should I Install all updates in Solor's or only the new ones that get released after release of SP1 RTM? 2. After Upgrading to SP1 (Using SP1 RC.v.721.build.7601.17105) How should I install new updates? (Just install new updates after the date of release of 'SP1 RC.v.721.build.7601.17105' or in some other way?) 3. Can I install 'SP1 RC.v.721.build.7601.17105' now and later update it to RTM? 3.1. If Answer to #3 is Yes, then what other updates should I Install (or not install) together with it? 3.2. If Answer to #3 is No , then If I Install all of recent updates on a brand new Win7Pro x64 RTM now, Can I upgrade to SP1 (RTM) later? (And do I need to uninstall any of currently installed updates?)
1. no 99% of those updates wont work since they are build 6.1.7600.xxxxx and yes you guessed 6.1.7601.xxxxx > 6.1.7600.xxxxx, only hotfixes that will work are additions like windows hlp addon and similar, however this still doesnt mean new version wont be released for SP1, you will just need to wait and see. 2. you shouldnt... its pretty much same as nr1 3. you cant update, you need to uninstall old beta and then install new version.
I think you can install updates from before sp1 after sp1 has been installed, but only if they aren't included (latest updates from november and december aren't included). But I think it's better not to use these update packs with sp1 and just let windows update do it's thing. When sp1 rtm is released (or leaked) and in the thread for updates is made notion of sp1, then you can install them. Maybe it doesn't matter, but that's what I would do
Thanks, so for now I'll just wait for SP1_RTM to Reinstall W7 on my PC and Install SP1_RC on my laptop and update it with all updates that came after its leak.
