    Hello there,

I am facing a problem with win 7 ultimate. In my laptop when I close the lid, it shutdown as programmed. however I have found out two times that on the next reboot, checkdisk checks my hd as windows didn't shutdown properly.

How can I find out what's the issue? Any help pls?

    thnx

The check disk error happened again while I was booting my laptop. it is the third time in 2 weeks of istalation of win7. I really need help.

The probable causes might be :

    - that during shutdown, some application running in background didn't close as it should

    - some problems remaining because of upgrade from win vista

    - driver incompatibility

Any solutions pls? I don't want to replace win 7 with vista although this checkdisk problem at boot is becoming very annoying for me.

also, is there any command to force programs to close and then shutdown?

    thnx

uncheck automatic restart on system failure. This way when the computer blue screens it will not reboot automatically.
