I am running windows 7, windows 8, and linux on a newly built haswell system. They all boot from separate drives by the way( SSD). But, there are shared partitions and folders on each. Doing some compatibility tests and I want windows 7 to shut down once idle. Prefer not to hibernate or go into sleep at all if necessary. Had issues with windows 8 hibernating instead of shutting down and affecting the shared partitions. System has 32gb ram so takes up SSD space as well when it has hibernate ( and still running on new beta bioses from manufacturer).
