After update from Insider to Windows10 Enterprise the size of the C:\Windows file is more than 13.7 GB, of which WinSxS takes 5.98 GB. Is n't that a bit too much?
about 90% of winsxs files are just hardlinks to system files. This means that they're the same file represented twice on the hard disk but taking up only the space of a single file. So when you check for size of things it will mis-report.
use dism /online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore to see if u need to cleanup if Backups and Disabled Features Cache and Temporary Data are low no point to run it
Being hard links there's no distinction between real files and links. But philosophically is better to describe the system directory as almost empty and populated by links to files resident in the SXS directory
