Nice. I will try right now ----- Does not work for me. Sorry -- GOT IT WORKING! It applied only after reactivation
hb860: Does not work for me. Sorry ace2: You could Extract explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms from windows 7 ultimate Disc/Install.wim & try again. hb860: GOT IT WORKING! ace2: Was windows 8 Activated already ?.
unusal that it needs reactivation for some people. overwriting the policy with identical licenseid should not caus reactivation. hm....
nope. the whole system works little different. ppdlic are general files which put in the "Value" to the tokens.dat - normaly it's all disallowed or it contains general settings. sppsvc appyies over existing values the matching sku-ppdlic in sku folder (spp). most are flagged as overwrite-only so the valuedata will only be changed if the value already exists. the ppdlic files are identical in every version build. MS hasn't changed their certificate for signing xrm files ever. So spp accepts also xrm files from prior systems and build. this signed xrm file is from a previous build and just doesn't contain the value. if no value gets written in tokens.dat the value for overwriting the valuedata won't apply. If someone (may now) can tell me how to change the edition Id then it would be possible to apply the sku over faked Edition to put in the values and than restoring the original edition. this i guess would make the system completly valid with more or less the options to unlock nearly all features without disabling sppsvc.
Using /ato, you'll lost one online activation when the system isn't activated. It will try to activate the system against the Microsoft Servers.
Windows 8 does not need to be activated for Skip Metro Using explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms: to work. If windows 8 is activated & you use Skip Metro Using explorer-ppdlic.xrm-ms YOU could use this to Reactivate: slmgr.vbs /skms win8kms4.mooo.com slmgr.vbs /ato slmgr.vbs /ckms ace2.
Making a tool could be a risk as it's using files from licensed software. thats why my tool works different, otherwise it would work this way. (as it always was intended) If he want to make one, than of course he can do it. I wouldn't complain if there is some kind of line that notes the founder ^^ bsod isn't caused by this.
