SKUs in Windows?, What means that?

    stock keeping unit = SKU

    MS gives a unique identifier (SKU) to each product or service they offer.

    I think technically that's correct.
    We often talk about editionid as sku when we just mean editionid.

    editionid are things such as:
    Core
    CoreN
    Professional
    ProfessionalWMC

    So if you hear us referring to SKUs when talking about activation, sometimes we mean the editionid.

    Slight correction: SKU is a different edition ​of Windows OS.

    I refer to SKU as to 'different feature set for different requirements'. (and size of wallet) ;)
