If it's about upgrading Skype, I do the same, but with 2 good reasons: 1. Sometimes the new versions are "loaded" with new stuff which I don't need. And more important: sometimes are buggier than the current version. 2. On my OS I can use only the virtualized version which of course can't be upgraded. So each time I have to virtualize the new version. Considering that Skype has new versions very often, it's a lot of work to virtualize each one properly.
Plus the rumours that code is being changed in order to accomodate the US law enforcement/intelligence services...
What's the earliest version which works on 64b W7 Ult SP1, anyone knows? Oh, and where to get it from (offline, full installer), please?
using 3.5.0.202 on win7 64bit 4.2.0.187 on win8 in win7compatibilitymode no way i'm gonna put up with the facebook/ad s**t
@roirra, not just skype...more than 40% of computer users i know do not update any software!!! windows updates if set to automatic kinda enforces itself on the user & the same goes for antivirus updates as well!!! updates for software like adobe flash player...java...utorrent...vlc media player...yahoo! messenger etc. are just simply ignored!!! the only universal excuse is " this version works just fine "
Or "The way I need it to work..." Not a bad one, I would imagine... At least in some cases, as for instance Skype, Live Messenger etc. New versions sometimes have bugs, incompatibility with plugins one uses/needs, options are sometimes removed, advert s**te brought in and one can't remove it and whatnot, so not at all bad, at least sometimes... To wait and see reviews and then decide...
