EDIT: Thanks for your contributions. When adding a bios please consider to make one or more mirrors (box.net has limited download) Also, don't forget to include which SLIC is in there (Dell?)
Great idea - it takes an absolute age to go through all the bios request/fulfilled threads on MDL! (Not complaining mind you, some great people on here and very helpful) Hopefully what i'm looking for appears on the wiki some day. Thanks
is this for 2.1_SLiCs only and i think this is a really good idea, cos having to sift through thousands of posts is getting a pain
To be honest, I haven't decided yet. IMHO only tested roms should go in and probably only 2.1 (since they activate Vista and Win 7). These days modding (of AWARD/AMI) is very easy anyways but its still nice to have a DB of verified files for noobs or lazy people.
That's a good question. Since we're only putting up links to legal upload sites I don't see anything wrong with it. Of course this won't stop them from deleting the site if/when complaints come it. I'll have a look at how good their backup feature works. EDIT: The backup feature gives out plain txt files with the user generated content. So as long as everyone sticks (somewhat) to the given format, we should be able to parse and replicate everything should they ever decide to pull it. Provided I make regular backups (no auto feature there)
Basicly a great idea giving a good overview. One thing might hold it back is the IP addy view in Recent. Even though it´s only partial it´s not a good idea having it shown.
I will add the modded Bios-Files from my three Desktops. DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D Asus EeeBox B202 As Rock ION 330
While I somewhat agree there also needs to be some way to prevent Anonymous abuse. Anyone who does not want his IP to be shown can sign up with wikicom and only his pseudonym will show. Major contributors are quite likely to do that. It is one of the wiki principals and I don't believe there is any way around it (the IP also shows up in the edit history).
