SLIC does not get updated/changed P5N-E SLI Invalid Windows License! I have MeshPC that comes with Asus P5N-E SLI It comes with SLIC 2.0 MESHPCModelPB2.0 Updating it with Asus BIOS (original) or a modded one does NOT erase/replace SLIC at all Anybody has an idea why? and how to replace it? Is it stored in some protected area? sebus
Did you clean all cracks or loaders off your system. My flash seemed not to do anything until after about the 3rd time time, I realized that I still had the Windows_Vista_Developer_Activation crack installed. After I got rid of that....the flash worked.
Have you tried saving your current bios with AsusUpdate application and modding it with Award Tool then flashing the modded bios on?
I tried with /py/sn/cc/Wb/r and I get errorfrom awdflash893: Invalid Windows License! I also tried EZ-Flash but I can see that some bloc(s) do NOT get flashed (obviously where the SLIC is) sebus
you can't activate windows online, there's been so many threads about it's just sick, use search feature.
2 points of note in this thread: 1. DO NOT FLASH THE BOOTBLOCK!!! It contains no SLIC-related stuff AT ALL and is rarely, if ever, updated. If you want to hopelessly brick your PC, then a failed / corrupted bootblock flash is absolutely the way to go. Some ASUS boards can be revived by shorting pins RST and GND (works on my M2N-SLI deluxe), but thats not a path you want to take as the timing of the short is very tricky (it took me 2 hours of continuous rebooting to get right). 2. DO NOT FLASH FROM WINDOWS!! Use awdflash. It wont give you the 'invalid license' BS and is generally safer. Cheers.
