Hi thank you for your prompt reply ! It was a success. I did not use the Floppy files that you've posted. Instead - I used the ISA method instead of Dynamic. Will the ISA method make any 'less' than dynamic as in the sense - make it more vulnerable of being spotted as 'non-genuine' by Microsoft since it uses a 'special program' at the end. My original boot splash screen is gone left with those ugly wordings .. Should I now try that floppy that you've suggested ? Also my BIOS is : Award Bios / ACPI 1.0 <<<<< Isn't this an old ACPI or something ?!!??!?!
Isa is very close to the dynamic mod..pubkey/marker is only closer. No more vulnerable than any other mod right now. I think it is silly to worry. If you have successfully modded the file, and have a 2.1 slic, you do not need my files. They are from HP website. ACPI 1.0 is old RSDT only. ACPI 2.0 has RSDT/XSDT tables. No worry for you. If you have 2.1 slic, congratulations... If you do not, flash my files... You can probably turn on the full screen boot logo...in the bios. Load defaults after flash..clear cmos helps also.
Yupp , okay , since it's already modded and have got 2.1 SLIC , there's a no need to worry But the thing is : I suppose mine is ACPI 2.0 but somehow it got to ACPI 1.0 What I feel like doing now is to have my original bios back - flash that original bios using Awards Tool and -redo- again. The reason for having original bios back is simply to make sure that those necessary stuff is intact and just the SLIC changes to 2.1 - the rest of my bios info remains clean and original. I've flashed my BIOS in total : 5-8 times. Scary isn't it ? BTW - i've downloaded your files - what should I do with it ? There's a boot img there .. Also - how do I have my original bootscreen back ? Thank you for your reply ! U make someone in this world HAPPY
The autoextractor will put the files on a floppy (the green file) The image is winimage and is for you to look at. I just put it in there.. If you run the green disk file, it will extract the files to floppy, or where ever you want. I do not know why the bootscreen is not there. There may be an option in bios.. You cannot change from ACPI1.0 to 2.0 and back..It is or it aint.. If you extract to floppy, there is an autoexec to run the flash for you...
yupp , thanks , I saw it ! How do I now be able to extract the BIOS update ? IRV5.23 KERNEL.sys XMSDSK.exe. FDXXMS.sys awd8833S.exe <<< this is the flash utility. So - now I need the original bios bin/rom file > possible to find it ?
The bios is IRV5.23...You do not have to have a .bin or .rom If it makes you feel better, add the extension .BIN to the file...It will not flash with the autoexec though... I understand that is the majority of the bios files here, but many have other extensions..usually version numbers.. I have already modded the bios in this executable..
