    Hi,

i have a laptop (Aopen 1559 AS) with phoenix bios. I modded its bios with phoenixtool 1.42, but it didnt work out. It seems like there is no SLIC table in the modded bios at all (according to slic dump toolkit 3.2). When i try to load the modded bios file with phoenixtool to see if it finds the slic table, nothing happens. It loaded the bios as it was an unmodified version. I tried both mode (ssv2 and dynamic) nothing works. Is there any additional settings? Please help me!

    Tips for PhoenixTool
    1. Put all of your files into C:\Temp.
    2. Turn off your antivirus when modding.
    3. Make the SLIC mod...then feed the modded BIOS back into to the PhoenixTool...it should say that a SLIC exists.
    4. When you flash the modded BIOS in DOS, make sure you remove the "/bbl" option.

When you load the modded BIOS back into the tool, does it detect the SLIC?

Also, what options are you passing to phlash16 when flashing the modded BIOS?

I sent you a link to your email address. Let us know if it works with the latest phlash16 and those parameters. Otherwise post a new RW-Everything report using the BIOS that I sent you...we might need to toggle one of the advanced parameters, but I don't know which one.

mkaracsony - I sent you another link using two "advanced" methods of replacing the OEM Table ID "Wistron ". Try either one and let me know if it works along with the RW report for either or both BIOS'es.

Ok, you're half way there. At least the RSDT OEM Table ID changed to match the SLIC. Let me see if there are any other options.

Well it looks like this BIOS is a problem...it just doesn't seem to create the SLIC table entry...it might be a Phoenix BIOS limitation according to Yen.

So your options would be to either use a loader or I could help you make a WindSLIC PXE BIOS mod.

The WindSLIC method would be to replace your NIC's PXE ROM in the BIOS with the WindSLIC. The only thing I would probably need from you are NIC's PCI Vendor and Device ID's. Under Windows Device Manager, you can go to the Details tab for your NIC and select the Hardware ID's and post them.

Ex: My motherboard's Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet Properties
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1653&SUBSYS_165314E4&REV_03
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1653&SUBSYS_165314E4
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1653&CC_020000
    PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1653&CC_0200
