There are two "sources" folders, cause it's a 32bit & 64bit ISO created with the MediaCreationTool as I said. And, Yes, after trying it in the Slimdown10_v1_10 folder itself, I just unpack the ISO in the DVD folder as You can see in the screenshots
I never used a DVD with sources divided in x86 and x64. For sure that's not the standard layout. The script isn't (yet) prepared for such uncommon scenario. Redo your ISO from UUP dump or download it directly. Or move the directories in the right place. If you want the double architecture DVD first prepare the reduced images (one by one) then replace the install wims in the appropriate directory of your current one.
Digital License should work. It may not activate immediately, but it works for sure. Tested many a time with clean installations on my desktop PC's hard disks. I use only digital license on my desktop PC (I have no product key and I don't use kms vl all tools) and it works for me with no issues. You can try to speed it up manually by clicking Change product key and then Activate option in system settings. There are no such big differences between Win10 and Win11, when comparing them to the differences between Win7/8.1 and Win10. So probably after some tailoring, script would be usable on Windows 11. But I am skipping Windows 11 for now, until it will become mature, solid and well tested. Services that may be engaged in activation, like wlidsvc, sppsvc, wuauserv aren't disabled. But the first two are set to manual state. Also tasks are removed from task scheduler. So online activation could take longer, but it works for sure. Tested several times with my own digital license (clean installation with no product key, but with internet connection).
wkeller: What an absolutely brilliant project! absolutnie genialny! Hope that's correct: I asked Mr.Google I've just spent the last couple of weeks trying to assemble the best possible collection of tweaks for Windows 10, so I can rebuild my wife's PC, and then my own, but all I was getting was more confused. But now, from what I'm reading in these seven pages, it seems like your project is exactly what I need. Much, much thanks for your efforts, you're a gentleman and a scholar!
Had this error when running tool: Detects iso, copies wim file, but tries to mount gets error and ends. Running script on pc with c and d drives, iso from UUD of win10 22h2 with script running from folder on d drive. Below is the cmd window showing error: Had this error when running tool: Detects iso, copies wim file, but tries to mount gets error and ends. Look at the code, I bet the DISM switches are changed from previous versions or does your version have a *.esd? I'll try! Edit: Nevermind, I keep getting this on a clean W11 ISO
Trying again, the error was in my slimdown folder name, ie d:\-=slimdown. Renamed the folder to d:\slimdown and re running now. So far so good. Will reply when its done.
Script completed just fine on win10 22h2. Just curious and ran one more time on a UUD virtual edition 22h2 iso choosing Enterprise as index. Worked perfectly. Creating usb drive to give it a test install, amazing script !!!
After cleanup, installed was less than 16 gig. Snappy windows and really fast boot. installed few utilities, WinCommander, VNC. Ran Dism++ disk Cleanup reduced the install by 2.1 gig, ran O&O defrag. Very nice "tiny" Win10. Thank you for the script, glad I tried it.
I get this on 1.21 Even changed path back to "D:\Download\Downloads\Slimdown10" DISM is looking for Install.wim but cant find it, your script is suppose to have support for Install.esd Edit: Tried new ISO and seems to work
The *.esd is listed and to be used if found. Yes made into wim Something in the beginning of Mounting Registry part is access denied
@wkeller Absolutely love your script. I was running windows 8.1 embedded on my Dell Inspiron 3420 (i3 3110M, 512 ssd), tried windows 10 back in 2018 but didnt like it as it made my laptop laggy. Yesterday decided to try Windows 10 IOT enterprise and was gonna run Chris Titus script after installing windows 10. Luckily came across your post and made a custom iso of win 10 IOT. Running like a dream on my laptop with such low memory usage. But I want to use pin along with password but the setting menu says "some of these settings are hidden or managed by your organization". Is there any way to enable pin without reenabling telemetry and stuff. Also can i run this script on windows 8.1 iso?? Any help would be appreciated.
