    Hi,

Is there any negative effect by integrate system-updates into another non-system wims (boot, winre)?

What I know: There are only very few updates which are in fact are full-apply-able for these.
My idea: Beside of integrate another setup language, also updating any system-components which are in that wim.
My guess: It updating just every existing things. Non-apply-able updates will be just ignored. Done.

Is that right, or what will happen?
Is there any whats worth to update, anyways?

    Thanks for replys. :)

It's what MSFT does on the refresh ESD/ISOs, update all wim files.

SSU, CU, Du for SafeOS and if it's 1909, the 1909 EP too, are all integrated in all wim files.

I used to add all or most of the same updates from the install.wim to the boot.wim indexes, but tbh it probably only helps the non-bootable index that setup uses for upgrades. Boot setup is pretty straight-forward in that it just partitions, formats, and applies the indexes. Barring a missing driver, there's really not much of a need for updates. Not saying you shouldn't do it, just that you won't notice any difference unless you open the command prompt and try to use a lot of non-standard services and such.
