look in windows/system32 if slmgr still has .vbs as extension.. maybe it changed to .txt or other textformat extension. Or look inside windows maybe you have choosen to open vbs files with notepad... it seems youre looking in the plain vbs file instead of running the script.
All I cam remember is that you have to execute the command prompt as an admin and then type slmgr -dlv or slmgr.vbs -dlv or just run and type in slmgr.vbs -dlv not just slmgr -dlv.Still works for me after the update
I have the same problem... SLMGR won't work no matter what I have done... What do you do with the Step 3. link information? Do you copy the text and where do you place(path/dir) or amend a file... which file?
Help someone. In Administrator command, the command slmgr dont work anymore. It show a page text of all the fonction of the command SLMGR instead of working as usual. I even reinstall this Win 8 pro in his own partition with format fonction before the new install. It's still there. And more pecculiar, the other partition with 8.1 as the same problem. Is it something wrong with the bios ????? Tancrède
Usually you get that page if you call slmgr.vbs without or with invalid parameters. Note: I would always use slmgr.vbs, calling it without the extension might open the %windir%\System32\slmgr directory instead.
I have use slmgr command many times since some few months. Few times for phone activation. But now, slmgr dont work anymore. always showing a page text with command slmgr explications and utilies. Like a said before in my last message, even 8.1 in the other partition as the same problem. Even reinstall 8 with formatted the partition before the installation, and the problem still there, in 8 and 8.1 Very very pecculiar. Tancrède
