Has anyone had any major system slow downs the last day or so.
Not only system slow down but internet.
    Checked for virus...nothing.
Checked for what updates installed...only defender
    Did complete system scan....nothing found

Checked defender today and it said unprotected but no way to turn it on.
Did an update to it and scan now it says protected and system performance is back.

    Anyone have same thing.

My old brain slows down a little bit but on the technical side regarding data coming out of the wall-outlet or via WLan. I cannot see any changes. :wheelchair:

Yes I had the system slow down around last weekend at the time I thought it was just my ISP but now that you mention that you had the same thing then it must have been a Windows 8 issue!

    Yes it must have been.
But I still was not back to the speed my system was. I did find what was causing the problem.
A SATA cable. Disk access had gone down to 3.4 , now it is back up to 5.9
Ran a bench mark test on my system and it was down to 440 and after I changed two SATA cables it was back up to 994.6
Cant be leave that those cables can make that much difference.

Bad contact or such issue can cause simple mechanical/electric malfunction. This happens when you frequently change cable. leaving it at place nothing occurs but most of the time dust and fat contaminates the golden plugs and this very little current cannot run as designed when changed by not being cleaned properly

Well I put my new drive in. ST3600057SS....What a fast drive.
Bumped the performance from 5.9 to 7.1
Now to transfer everything from my old Windows 8 x64 to the new install of Windows 8 x64.
Would really like to try Windows Blue x64 on the new drive, but I just cant seem to find it anywhere on the net.
