I need to add a SLP to an old Phoenix bios, however when I try to use Andy's tool, the slp section is greyed out/Disabled. How can I get the string added?
    Thanks

Not sure what you mean with 'old' Phoenix BIOS. Always provide a link to it.....
Anyway I guess you mean those with BIOSCODx.ROM modules. The SLP string must be implemented into BIOSCOD0.ROM.
Since it isn't mostly possible to reintegrate it to its original offset due to increase of the compressed size, Andy hasn't implemented it.

The Phoenix winphlash tool can apply strings to DMI when flashing the original BIOS. So best is to use a OEM that has a valid range at DMI such as HP and to use a HP OEM XP version or any other OEM that is valid at DMI (0x000F0000 - 0x000F1000.)

No, PCs came out before Windows XP (Circa 2000), built for Windows ME.(Hardware has been upgraded since then, just the same motherboard.)

Thanks for your help, That tool returned the "Manufacturer" string as a modifiable, however when I click modify and type in the new string, then click Write, it doesn't change the string.
What can I do to fix this?
