Collections are for to use for different OEMS.

The SLIC code is in .bin format. SLP is generally referred to for XP. SLIC for VISTA activating scheme.

You should get a hex editor, get some of the SLIC.bin files and open them up..You will see the differences.

How this applies is a bit beyond the scope of this explanation..but to simplify three things are needed for activation as OEM:

    1-- Active Slic in BIOS

2-- Matching Cert in the OS

3-- Appropriate Serial for version of Vista installed

If any one is missing, no activation..

If you want to understand all of that... you have to "Read-a-Lot" thread that already on the stickies... Believe me...

I don't know about 90% when I first came in... then I do a lot of read... and now I think I got around 50% (I guess) :p

    So...
"Collections" is a group of something/files that some member collect from around the site so we (the ones who needed) can easily found them :D

.bin is a file that is extracted from BIOS files which is contain of SLIC, so SLIC is information which reside in the BIOS :p

SLP is System-Locked Pre-installation... XP is using SLP 1.0, Vista using SLP 2.0 and Win 7 using SLP 2.1

Hopefully what I explained to you is spot-on... but if its not I'm sorry.. don't blame me, I'm still 50% on this :D

    Then read "alot" more :p

First of all... you don't insert the certificate to BIOS, you insert SLIC (.bin files) to the BIOS using tools that already provided in the stickies.
Then Install Vista, after that insert the correct Certificate to Vista (using slmgr.vbs -ilc certificate-files)

Hopefully you can't understand my explanation... Like Yen said "Happy Reading" :D

    I am Sorry

    am sorry for being pain-in-the-a*s

    but anyway,
the problem is: Can i MOD the bios?
means the procedures i read, all FLASH bios, but i need direct modding(if possible)

or a special tool in which i will just put the directory of the .BIN file, and it will insert it into bios or something like that

For SLIC 2.0 flashed with SLIC 2.1 for Win7, does the cert has to match? I have 7N SLIC 2.0 in Thinkpad and i saw the new lenovo marker only contains 7U onwards.... Is it safe to do so?
