Hey, If i buy a netbook with windows 7 starter installed, can i do the anytime upgrade trick and chuck in an Ultimate SLP key? Cheers.
Use SLIC Dump toolkit to check if there is SLIC 2.1 in the bios. With netbooks they usually don't If there is, then yes you can use a SLP key.
Yup i'll just go drop some cash to see if it works. Good plan aye. Dont actually have one yet. Can someone confirm netbooks dont have them? Asus Eee PC for example?
Of course you can.. as crimpy said first you check whether there is a SLIC 2.1,if yes then you can fire to Ultimate.. I think Netbooks have it,otherwise how would they activate Starter?
I can confirm that my Asus Eee 1005HA came with SLIC 2.1 in BIOS. Windows 7 Starter was factory installed.
Hey, Im testing with an EEE 1001HA here, however its using the 1005HA's bios (same file). It had WinXP however it doesnt have a SLIC in it, even though its been updated to 1005HA 1301 bios. Is the SLIC not in the bios file? It currently has Win7 Professional with a genuine key. In SLIC toolkit on the SLP 1.0 page it says Offset - Valid address range - SLP OEM String 000FE840 000fc000 - 000fffff ASUS_FLASH However it says No SLIC found
