Hi, I would like to ask
which of the editions require smallest disk size and less resources (especially disk and ram) without loosing essential functionality? I read thinpc is only x86 and I need x64.
I want also office 2016 to be installed so sp1 based is much appreciated? I downloaded a custom Lite8 image (based on embedded) but can't get activated (doesn't accept volume license key). Any other recommendations ?

It is to be installed to parallels virtual machine and needs to be as bug free as possible and with printer drivers (at least for apps like virtual printers). It is going to be used mainly for developing no games nothing else

    Hy,

You can try Windows Embedded 7 x64 (Based on Windows 7). If you choose Thin client on installation option, it takes 2 - 3 GB if I remember...

Windows Thin PC is x86 only but Windows Embedded Standard exists in x86 and x64.

Google this : "Windows Embedded Standard 7 download" (I cannot post links)

You just need a Windows Embedded key to activate permanently. If you don't enter a key, it installs a evaluation copy.

Try Lubuntu with WINE for Office 16 x86. Look for the ISO on this forum.

Thanks... Is not a solution as primary goal is some x64 windows programs that are windows only and need stability (developing programs).

well that ist quite impossible ...

i have made some tests some time ago: win7 embedded and win8.1 embedded both x64
also i had the same goal: a fast and small virtual machine including office 2016.
well if u say 13gb is small then go for win7embedded x64 with office2016
8.1 will be some gigs larger. both systems patched to the latest june2016 updates.o_O

    Use a download manager. :p
Verify or post sha-1 checksums of those rar files.

Just google checksums of each file, if they aren't corrupt, google might throw some results back.

i did download using a fast reliable connection. but as it was my local library, i cant keep downloading 4gb plus for corrupted files.
