Still getting the errors. Have skipped several updates hoping that one would by-pass this, but it's still occurring Last update was Feature Update to Win10 v21H2 on 06-DEC-2021. (Also, interestingly, although there is a CLEAR history of updates, NONE of them show in the Control Panel Updates section) SFC /SCANNOW (in Admin mode), still returns - Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service. Other that a complete and fresh install, and new ideas to try? Thanks! --- DS
Guess only and best result for you is to do an inplace upgrade,I have been there and overcome by doing an inplace upgrade as the only thing there will works.
So no new news or updates on the WinUpate Error Code 0x800700c1 yet? ..... But what new news are you waiting for? This error message lets you know that your Windows is not OK and the only thing you can do is repair Windows and as you know the only method to repair is a completely new installation of Windows. Often, even the so-called inplace reinstallation does not help, but a complete new clean installation is required. You can usually keep only personal files and nothing more. As soon as you want to keep something more, the error cause will also kept and you will see this error message agai very soon. So, now you know how to get rid of your mistake.
Yeah, tried everything I could find, including the in place upgrade, nothing worked. Was hoping someone might have found another way around it other than a complete fresh re-install (PITA). Thanks. --- DS
