So with the arrival of a new year and a new decade, my question is this. "What can we expect in the coming year or even decade ? ". Early 2010 see's the arrival of the intel i7 980x gulftown processor, which certainly does look likely to be impressive with its 6 cores and 12 threads. High end equipment is getting cheaper and therefore more accsessible all the time. User's can now experience great performance at much more realistic prices. What really interests me and also the reason for this thread is what can we expect by the end of 2010, further than this how about 2020. What hardware will we be discussing by then ?
If MDL still exists in 2020 (I hope so), we could have a look at our postings from back then, having a good laugh about how good we thought Win 7 is/was. A few weeks ago I've been reading the package of an old computer game (Doom 2) - talking about realistic graphic, cool sound, 3D !!!! etc Well, time is relative at least.
Lol, imagine playing Doom 2 in Nvidia stereoscopic 3D ! On the mention of 3D, i had sky hd fitted a couple of weeks ago here in the uk where i live. The engineer was telling me that 3D television is being launched in 2010.......very cool. If you have circa £5000 for the tv set, apparently the viewer will not even need to wear glasses for the 3D effect to work.
Surprisingly little opinion on this thread. Maybe some IT proffesionals here at MDL may be able to give some input on this subject ?
I know tests are being performed on a nuclear battery for laptops by koreans imagine that. typing on a nuclear device According to the researchers the end result will be used in all sorts of devices and gadgets, and will be thinner than a human hair...
So u can't lose it but hey can i get a blue one? Now some real input to the topic.. I would like to see a benchmark comparing the Geforce 300 series an the new radeon hd 5xxx
