You can turn on Remote Desktop connections yet when you try to connect to the Home PC it says connection failed, i did some googling and Home doesn't support RDP? I'm playing around and trying to connect to windows 10 home from Ubuntu in a virtual machine yet i can't.

You simply could use a 3.party App for Remote Control like LiteManager and others. AFAIK Lite Manager could be used for free for up to 50 connections. Most of the good Remote Control Apps' are Payware like RAdmin pp.!

Windows Home Version having some Network Limits and would not easily work with RDP, still, it could be done by configuring properly.

Home versions support "Remote Assistance" but not "Remote Desktop" (without modification). They do come with a Remote Desktop Client so you can connect to a PC that does support Remote Desktop. Been this way since at least XP.
