I just made a clean install of Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center (for the second time) and this problem persists.
Now I'm doing 'sfc /verifyonly', but I'm not very confident, since it didn't found anything the first time too.
    :(
    EDIT: sfc returned 0 errors
Is there a way to check if the content of the dvd I used is all right? (with Nero I already used the option to verify the write session)
In Event Viewer I read this error: 0x80070005

Are you doing something weird with the install like dual-booting or using a different boot loader?

That's just the wimlib adding the tokens to the image.
    I wonder, though...

a123179, can you try it with option 3 instead and see if you still get this cannot start spp error?

    Following s1ave77 hint:
"Windows 8.1 with Update (multiple editions)" from http://forums.mydigitallife.net/thr...-8-1-Server-2012r2-with-Update-MSDN-iso-files has both Core and Pro?
To include WMC in the iso I suppose I should use http://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/35650-Creating-a-Windows-8-1-AIO-with-Media-Center-manually, but I have a question: I read AIO can't be used (at least on Win7 x64) as a recovery cd, is this true for Win8 too?
And if I instead use the 'add feature', what are exactly the steps?
