Normal Windows format tool doesn't work for some cases to create properly formatted USB drives, like when flashing BIOS using ASUS Flashback. The only way is to format to make it work is to use DiskPart, but are there GUI-based tools that can do the same? RUFUS is NOT one of them...
No offense, but do you experience all these exotic scenarios yourself or did you read about it somewhere else and now asking here?
ASUS BIOS Flashback will not work with/from GPT-partitioned USB drives. It just doesn't detect it and the process doesn't start. It only works with MBR-partitioned USB drives. I think only regular/normal official BIOS update works GPT USB drives. I use ASUS Flashback because I mod BIOS with ROM's and firmware (Intel RST, MEI, etc.) newer than provided in the latest official BIOS releases. I use a tool - UBU (UEFI BIOS Updater) from WinRAID forums. Its quite popular these days. Such modded BIOS can only be flashed using ASUS Flashback.
