Elementary uses 6-700 MB at boot so 2 GB is more than enough, in fact 2 GB is more than enough for any decent linux distro.
This old laptop is not worth spending an extra penny on, I will try Elementary again when I can scrounge a replacement
Yep! It works fine on my laptop and desktop too but the OS does not have a setting to choose action if we close laptop's lid in Power Settings. Checked on 0.3.2 Freya also. Such a basic thing not yet implemented due to which laptop sleeps when lid is closed. I don't want it to sleep
From what I have seen so far, Ubuntu and Zorin are way more serious than Elementary OS, sorry... From the setup to fixing bits and pieces later on, installing apps, eOS needs a lot more effort! They have scaled down Ubuntu efforts a little bit too far, it seems to me...
Tried today to install Freya 0.3.2 such a pain in the....What I mean: Installing in other language than english is just a losted time; once OS is installed the user must have strong nerves because allways is blocking does not matter what (tried more installations)...
I have tried different versions of Elementary OS, it allways felt like a early alpha version. Normal things like the one you have mentioned just refused to work out of the box as someone could expect from a Ubuntu based distro.
