I also had exact same error, and it took me hours to realize a better solution -- to upgrade to win10 directly from an ISO.
Thank you for this fix. It worked in that sence that Windows Update says it's OK to install but..... It reports 2 595.5 MB and I guess it is the size of the downloaded files until now. The full size is about 3 700 MB as the .iso file? If I start the upgrade now, will it download the rest immediately? I removed the registry key and is back to normal "wait and see" mode. Kan I use that registry fix just to see how much is downloaded and wait for more data?
On my laptop I have 3.681,36 MB so you probably have to re-download it from the beginning or get directly the iso
Nice fix, thank you very much. Now if only there was a "fill empty dead space on the left side of metro tiles" button. Or better yet "remove empty dead space on left side" or "Slide metro apps all the way left to fit up empty dead space" Or best one yet "turn on helpful Windows 7 Start Menu over the dead empty space on the left side but still keep metro apps active on the right" button
you can try your chance in the MDL contest for a StartIsBack++ license here : forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/62952-15-licenses-contest-Start-Is-Back-Personal/page3?p=1105605
You dont have to care about the data size, when you use the fix for the registry and windows says ok to upgrade then its a GO!
Thanks, but I was not sure so I took the easy way out and used Microsoft Media Creation Tool instead and I am now up and running.
