Hi Gents, I've been very leery on Win10 since the last OS roll out from MS that I played with (Win 8) was less than satisfactory. I bought a couple Win 8 licenses from MS cheap, but was still disappointed. I went back to Win 7 on both Boxes. So I've held off much longer this time around, and although I've yet to work through all of "spyware / dialing home" issues in Win10, I need to move my son's Gamer box over from Win 7. I just did a clean install and it seems to be working fine but the Windows Updates took forever. The image I used was a direct download from MS August 1, 2015. Details are: File: Win10_English_x64.iso CRC-32: b1a4699e MD4: 36a8b5ac130301bee799683b00c732e1 MD5: 23e397a21a9e01f141c64b7e1260314a SHA-1: 60cce9e9c6557335b4f7b18d02cfe2b438a8b3e2 I'm wondering if you could point me to a later release for this ISO, or maybe an Updater Patch => as I remember something a fabulous gent put something together for Win 7, but I don't know if the same exists for Win 10. Thanks for the assist.
Use the link above - if you wish to install a particular edition that you wouldn't normally have access to (i.e. Enterprise N LTSB) - activating with KMS. That's what 99% of us are probably doing after getting a legitimate PRO licence through upgrading. OR Download it straight from Microsoft with the media creation tool: w w w.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10 That should give a image containing both Home & Pro editions. Install the appropriate edition based off the info below. There shouldn't be that many updates with a 10586 image. If you've already upgraded your Win 7/8.1 machines to 10 - then a clean install of 10 will activate through digital entitlement. Else perform an upgrade install. Win 7 Pro/Ultimate --> upgrade --> Win10 Pro Win 8 Pro --> upgrade --> Win10 Pro Anything else gets you a copy of Win10 Home.
You can download updated ISO (the newer build TH2 10586) directly from microsoft at this URL: microsoft.com/en-US/software-download/techbench If you're aiming for the free upgrade, avoid the Enterprise version.
