Does such legacy tool exist? Curious if it would be possible to add boot code for the cd rom. POST reports generic "Opti Viper 557_558N"
I think it could be marked as solved. The easy way was/is (since i have a Compaq EVO n620c) - move harddisk over to EVO and do a format c: /s , and copy all files onto. (since i can boot from usb) Later I can use a ethernet/wifi pcmcia. My goto was serial connection with FastLynx 3.3 build 336 to a Windows 11 pc with a usb serial adapter. Chipset from Prolific was the only one working, and i have several different adapters from TI, FTDI etc LapLink was the other way around, only FTDI worked. For my usage, serial is fast enough and once the adapter works you can bridge over a serial to ethernet adapter. I have a couple of Bluetooth class1 (100 meter) serial adapter's as well, worked flawless. It's not what initially topic was shooting for but it works in the end very well nontheless.
